On April 22 President Obama hosted the 3rd Annual White House Science Fair, celebrating the student winners of a broad range of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) competitions from across the country.
Senior Julie Xu and 2012 graduate Spencer Ottarson (pictured above) represented the Williamston High School InvenTeam at this year's event. The InvenTeam developed a self-sustaining alert system that detects rip currents in the Great Lakes and warns people of the danger.
This year's Science Fair featured 100 students from more than 40 states representing 45 different competitions and organizations that recognize the talents of America's next generation of scientists, engineers, inventors and innovators. Congratulations to the entire Williamston High School InvenTeam for their outstanding accomplishment!
